Yikes! Where did the time go? My last show was in October and I’ve had all these many weeks to design and create. Somehow I wasn’t as productive as I would have liked. Can you relate? So with my first show of 2012 just 5 weeks away, it’s a mad dash to tie up all the loose ends.

I did finish one new pattern. I hand dyed some pretty sunrise fabric to which I added the silhouette of Jesus with his arms outstretched in that wonderful welcoming pose of unconditional love. Hope you like it.

Also working on a desert scene that is finally coming together. I’ll be showing you that one in a couple weeks.

Hope you had a wonderful holiday season and you’re ready to make 2012 a fantastic year and that I’ll be seeing some of you on the Quilt Show Circuit. My schedule is on the website.

October already

Okay, so we didn’t have the best or longest summer and the rain is back. But it’s a great excuse to hunker down in whatever you consider your “sewing territory” and create some of the things you’ve been thinking about, or patterns you’ve purchased (maybe a long time ago). Let your creative juices flow and maybe try something new. If you’re not sure where to start, take a class, join a guild. Create! We’ve all got that spark of creativity within us. Yes, all of us.
So this week we’re headed to Spokane for the Washington State Quilters Show, Oct 14-16. They put on a great show with some spectacular quilts and tons of vendors. This year I’m bringing my daughter, Mandey, who will be demonstrating Tsukineko inks. Come learn how to liven up whatever project you’re working on. We’ll also be showing you just how easy raw-edge applique is with my NO Tracing method.
This will be my last show for the year so come on in and see my latest design NorthWest Seasons. And don’t forget, you can win all four NorthWest Seasons patterns just by “liking me” on facebook. The drawing will be Oct 20.

If you didn’t make it out to the APWQ show in Tacoma this past weekend, you really missed a good one. The quality of quilts was amazing. Amazing!

You also would have missed the debut of my newest pattern “NorthWest Seasons”. It’s actually four different patterns. I had a great “show price” of $26.00 for all 4 patterns and at my next show it will be up to 30.00. But if you order before September 10, I will honor the show price.

We’ll be doing demonstrations on raw-edge applique as usual, plus Tsunkineko ink demo. (I’m also considering doing a raw edge demo video on YouTube.) We have a new knitted and felted pattern for a cover for your iPad and a No-sew Ladybug placemat. Both should be on the webstore in about a week.

Remember, if any of you would like to send me a photo of a finished project that you purchased from me I would love to see it and post it on my blog if allowed.

Sweet summer time

Not sure where you are, but here in Northwest Washington we’ve really been struggling to get and keep summer around. This week is supposed to be lovely.
Is everyone just crazy busy these days?
Just finished the Busy Bee Quilt Show in Monroe. Thanks to all you lovely ladies who stopped by my booth.
I finished by newest piece “Northwest Seasons”. Now I need to finish writing the pattern. The plan is to have it available for the APWQ show in Tacoma Aug 26-28. It’s going to be a fabulous show with over 60 vendors plus all the beautiful quilts.

A new year, a fresh start. So many good things to look forward to.
I just finished a new pattern and I love it. Partially inspired by my buddy Robin’s love of wool. Called ‘Open Window”, it will be available at my first show this year in Kitsap. I’ll try to get it on my web store soon.

As much as I love summer, I really love the transition into autumn. The colors, the smells, (not so much the loss of daylight), but more time indoors means more time in my studio, designing, creating and just playing.

My new Trillium pattern is doing well and my Holiday Hunter Star did very well at the Portland show last weekend. I love hearing all the laughter as people read the clever signs we’re now carrying. I’m thinking about putting some of those cute sayings on some canvas bags. Good idea??

Looking forward to my next show in Spokane, Oct 15-17. Hope you’ll stop in if you’re in the area. Keep quilting!

Changing Seasons

Fall is definately in the air. And with the change of seasons we also change our activities. We’re heading indoors and getting our sewing studios ready for production!

Next week finds me in Portland at the NW Quilt Expo. Then October shows in Spokane and Silverton. November is the NW Quilt & Sew Expo in Puyallup with my final show in Issaquah.

Hope to see you at one or all of them. Come get excited and inspired by other quilters and please check out my new fall batik fabric.
